My name is Daniel and I’m an Abri resident living in Liphook. I originally came to Abri’s Employment Services in August 2021 as part of the DigiReady Project (helping residents to be ready and had the skills to use the new Abri portal). At that time, I was working in the care sector and keen to explore different employment options.
After an initial call with the team to chat through some of the roles I might like to explore, and updating my CV, I was made redundant from my job. The timing was right though, as Abri were about to launch an Abri Work Academy with Asmodee to prepare people for warehousing roles. I was eager to participate and signed up with much enthusiasm.
After finding out about Asmodee, the roles available and the values and ethos of the company, I attended an employability session where we discussed how to make sure that I presented my self in the best possible way in my CV and at interview. I also attended a short online course with Digital College, which gave me some more information about working in a warehouse and a certificate that I can add to my CV.
After a mock interview, I was fully prepared for the next stage in the application process – submitting my application for a role at Asmodee. And great news, later that day I was offered a position starting a week later. I am now really enjoying my new role.
