In 2019, Radian Group and Yarlington Housing Group tied the knot. A perfect match. We’re now Abri and the rest is history.
Everything you need will be on this site. If it's not, we're just at the end of the phone (or laptop).
Now you might have a few questions on what this means for you, so we've tried to cover most of them.
Who is Abri?
All the landlords within the Radian group including Yarlington Housing Group now come under the Abri brand. On emails and other correspondence from us you will now see the name Abri. If you're a customer, it is important to remember that your landlord has not changed – just our name.
Why have you got a new brand?
Radian and Yarlington became one organisation in November 2019 but to combine our resources and make improvements to our services we need to be under one name.
But a brand is not just a name. As one new organisation we have a new set of commitments. We are all about providing great homes and services, creating communities and improving peoples’ life chances.
Why the name Abri?
Abri means ‘shelter’. Shelter doesn’t just mean a home though, it also means a community and bringing people together. With our new set of commitments, that’s exactly what we are about.
We also chose Abri because it is short, easy to say and easy to spell
Why have you changed now and during a pandemic?
We officially became one organisation in November 2019 and since then have been trying to keep all of customers and colleagues safe during COVID19. But, as things start to get back to normal, we are trying to bring the best of our old organisations together and make improvements to our services, but we can’t do that until we are all under one new name
What will Abri do?
As Abri, we are all about providing great homes and services, creating communities and improving peoples’ life chances. We will work with customers, our communities and other partners to make this a reality.
We will:
- Build more homes
- Invest more in our existing homes
- Aim for 100% customer satisfaction
- Invest more to create thriving communities
- Create a great place to work
- Manage our business to the highest standards
- Play our part in tackling climate change
I'm an existing customer, how will this affect me?
If you are an existing customer, we've tried to cover anything you may want to know below. If there is something in particular you wanted to chat with us about, please get in touch.
How much are you paying for this new name/brand?
We have kept costs to a minimum by carefully phasing the introduction of our change of name and by using our existing staff wherever possible. Some of the changes we’re making would need to be made in the normal course of business, for example, replacing vans and signage. Overall, the benefits created by our new organisation far outweigh the costs of creating it; it will enable us to invest more in services, homes and communities.
While there are costs in bringing two organisations together, the creation of Abri means that we will have more resources to invest in our existing homes, in developing new services, building more homes and in investing in communities.
The creation of Abri will enable us to:
- build at least 10,000 new homes over the next ten years
- invest £215 million in our existing homes
- invest £15 million in community investment zones over five years
- Help tackle homelessness
Have customers been involved in creating what this new organisation looks like?
Absolutely. At the start of 2020 we asked you to tell us what you think our priorities should be for the new organisation. You told us you wanted us to build more homes, invest more in our existing homes and make our homes more environmentally friendly. We’re doing all three and more.
Why are things still Radian and Yarlington when you’ve changed your name?
Some of our vans, our uniforms and our websites have already changed to Abri. But it is going to take a little time before everything reflects our new name. So, for a while, you might see things referred to as either Abri, Radian or Yarlington while we make the necessary changes. It is important to remember however, that your landlord has not changed – just our name.
Will being a bigger organisation affect your services?
Absolutely not, in fact, they’ll get better. As a bigger organisation we will have more resources to build even more homes, maintain our existing homes and improve our services. We will also be able to spend more time in your community so that we understand the needs of local people and provide support that’s right for you.
Has my portal log in changed?
Access to your portal and the services available has not changed, however it will now just feature our new branding. Find out more information about using the portal here.
I'm a stakeholder, how will this affect me?
Going forward, things will still be business as usual whether you are a local authority partner, MP, journalist or other stakeholder. Any questions you may have will hopefully be covered below.
